The documentary archive complements the Company’s current proposals and links them with other testimonies of a time past. It starts in 1922, with the Viennese Cabaret and the origin of The Viennese, Europe in the ‘30s and ‘40s, the arrival and residence of the group in Barcelona, their touring with various shows, puppets, circuses and the beginning of television broadcasting in Spain. It consists of more than 15,000 documents, albums, pictures, videos, soundtracks, scripts, texts, drawings, newspapers, correspondence, programs, sheet music, books, short tales, postcards, posters and miscellaneous. All this gives Marionetarium an outstanding role as point of reference and place of knowledge, a research hub that generates collaborative programs with universities, institutions, companies and individual researchers.
